Praying Mantis Outside Kitchen Window at Night - First One I've Seen With Black Eyes Since this was the first time I've taken a picture of a praying mantis at night I noticed its eyes were dark compared to the green eyes of daytime. This happens in low light conditions.

Small Snake Was Surrounding This Eastern Gray Tree Frog I thought it was dead so ran to get my camera to take a photo of the snake to ID it since I'd not seen one of them before. When I came back a minute later, the snake was gone and I saw that the frog was still breathing. I picked it up and it had enough energy to struggle so I cupped him in my hand and ran to bang on the door so my husband could get a container for it. We put him in it but after seeing how much energy he had, we thought it best to let him heal and feed himself. I placed him in a pot on the deck and noticed he crawled under some leaves and we left him. Checked later and I could see his eye peeking out. At night I checked and he was gone, hunting for food I assumed.
